How long have you been with Eastern Sirens?
I have been with Eastern Sirens since the club was first formed in October 2015! I was 7 1/2 years old! So nearly 9 years now!
Why did you join and what do you like about artistic swimming?
I've always loved the water and swimming, wherever I go, the pool, the beach, the river etc. Plus I'd always wanted to be a mermaid from a very young age as they seem quite fun! Mum showed me videos of artistic swimming and it looked like so much fun, dancing to music in the water! I really enjoy being part of a team and supporting everyone where I can. I also love travelling, so going to Nationals is great! I love competing at Nationals also as I get to see so many amazing routines from all over the country! Some that I see are just so good!
What has your journey been like so far? Have there been any challenges?
My journey over the past 9 years has been great so far. I've enjoyed all the routines I've done, teams, duets and solos. My biggest challenge though was competing in the Junior Solo division at Nationals in QLD this year as it was the first time I had to perform a solo outside of Victoria. The new scoring system was a challenge too.
Nationals 2025 will be in Melbourne. What are you looking forward to?
With Nationals in Melbourne next year, I am looking forward to staying in a hotel in the city, so it still feels like I am on holidays! And so I don't have to drive for an hour back and forth. Plus of course, being able to have my friends and family in the stands, cheering me on will be really nice as they don't get much of a chance to watch me perform usually.
